Psychological Assessment Enquiry
We understand that seeking support for your child’s learning or development can feel overwhelming. At Western Specialist Centre, our psychologists provide assessments for ADHD, autism, dyslexia, learning difficulties, IQ and cognitive needs. Please fill out the form below with your details and how soon you would like an appointment. Our team will call you to guide you through the process and book the next available time. All information you share will remain confidential.
Frequently asked questions
We offer comprehensive assessments for ADHD, autism, dyslexia, learning difficulties, IQ, and cognitive
needs. Each assessment is tailored to your child’s age, development, and individual goals.
All assessments are carried out by our experienced psychologists who specialise in child
development and learning. They use evidence-based tools to ensure accurate and meaningful
clinical findings.
Once you fill out the enquiry form, our friendly team will call you to discuss your child’s needs,
explain the process, and help you book the next available appointment. You’ll also be advised if
any school reports or past assessments are helpful to bring along.
Assessments take place in a calm and supportive setting. Your child may complete puzzles,
questions, or interactive tasks. Parents might be asked to provide background information to
help our psychologists develop comprehensive clinical findings.
Most assessments run for 1-3 hours, depending on your child’s age and needs. Some may
occur over multiple sessions. You’ll then have a feedback appointment where the psychologist
explains the clinical findings and next steps.
You’ll receive a detailed written report outlining your child’s clinical findings and personalised
recommendations to support their development at home and school. If needed, we can also
provide additional referrals and advice as needed.
Some assessments may qualify for Medicare rebates under a GP Mental Health Care Plan or
paediatrician referral. Private health insurance may also cover part of the cost – our team can
explain your options during booking.
Fees vary depending on the type and length of the assessment. Once we understand your
needs, we’ll provide a clear fee breakdown and discuss any rebates available before confirming
your booking.
Yes. All personal information and clinical findings are handled with strict confidentiality and are
only shared with your consent.
We’ll let you know what to bring (for example, school reports or previous assessments). Make
sure your child is well-rested, has eaten, and feels comfortable – we’ll take care of the rest
