Consultant Nephrologist and General Physician
Dr Al-Moktar graduated from Baghdad Medical School in 1989, achieved his fellowship in internal medicine in 1999 from Baghdad University (FICMS). In Australia, Dr Al-Moktar has completed training in Internal Medicine and then advanced training in Nephrology (Victoria and New South Wales). In 2014, Dr Al-Moktar was granted FRACP.
His research has involved studying patients with acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease in hospitals
He is available for consultation at Western Specialist Centre at Werribee and St Albans, and Craigieburn Specialist Consulting Suites
He is interested to review patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, Hypertension, Haematuria (shared job with urologist), proteinuria, cystic kidney disease and General medicine linked to kidney disease including diabetes
