More About Me:

Moulya Ramesh Kumar is a registered psychologist who has a strong interest in working with children and adolescents. Her work encompasses a wide range of services including assessment of cognitive, adaptive & developmental abilities, along with assessing emotional functioning of children and adolescents. She has further experience with conducting personality assessments and other psychometric assessments. Having worked in a culturally diverse setting across countries, her interventions are tailored to suit the needs of the individual and informed by ISTDP, CBT, ACT and DBT approaches. While working with children her interventions are child-centred, and she draws her technique from play therapy, family systems therapy and trauma-informed therapies. She has worked closely with assessing and providing interventions for children with learning difficulties during her practice in India. She believes that a genuine empathic relationship can facilitate a strong foundation for therapeutic change and aims to help her clients using a collaborative approach. When supporting children and adolescents, she not only addresses presenting problems but also caters to their healing in the context of their environment and family.

Why I Love being a Psychologist:

Moulya has extensive interest in helping children, adolescents and their families through emotional and behaviour difficulties. She believes that childhood and early years are crucial in facilitating the cognitive, social and emotional development of an individual. When a child is struggling, early interventions can provide space for cultivating a trusting relationship with themselves and those around them. The therapeutic space can model unconditional regard for themselves while offering opportunities for healing, expression and growth. This can go a long way in them developing healthy coping mechanisms, a strong self-concept, self-efficacy, building resilience and harnessing their deepest potential. Moulya also strongly advocates for child protection and empowerment through her work.
